Teaching Schedule-2023

These classes will be held in my home studio in Paris, Texas from 1-4 p.m. each Wednesday afternoon for 5 consecutive weeks. I enjoy teaching in sessions to allow for breaks for my students and myself. My teaching is more coaching style by allowing you to choose the subject matter you would like to create in colored pencils, and I will assist you during class to create that piece. I can offer assistance with choosing if you’re not sure where to begin.I will guide you in materials to use and will also be willing to teach about other mediums you can combine with colored pencils, if you so desire. Beginners are welcome. All levels of experience will work in this environment. The fee for the 5-week session will be $175. If you desire to join the class once a session has started, the rate will be reduced accordingly for the weeks left. Each session is limited to 4 students, so reserve your spot by emailing me @kjkeys@kimkeysart.com.

The teaching sessions scheduled for 2023 are:

  • August 16-September 13-Each Wednesday of those weeks

  • October 4-November 1-Each Wednesday of those weeks

*Classes are non-refundable.

Testimonial-”I am a new art student with Kim Keys, but I am not a new art student. My courses have taken me far and wide. I came to Kim because I was interested in learning the process for using colored pencils. She attracted me because she has professional skills, and she loves to teach. All attributes which make for a fine learning experience. Kim teaches in her own studio; she shares a variety of techniques as the class moves forward or the student wants more. She is patient, giving of herself and a tremendous resource in this art medium. Colored pencil artists are hard to come by, this jewel is in Paris which benefits the entire art community in the area.”-S. Schneider

Progression Videos

These videos show the progression from beginning to end of these pieces of art. I scanned these pieces as I went along of my progress and then decided to make some videos so you could see how the project comes together. Note how every project has it’s “ugly” stage, but you have to press through to get to a great end! I can help you do that!
